Dear Dr. Robert Huizenga For the many years that Linda and I have been patients of Dr. Robert Huizenga and his staff at Georgetown Eye Associates, we have always been very comfortable with the quality and professionalism with which we have been treated; Linda has had a number of family members with various diseases of the eyes, and she has always considered Dr. Robert Huizenga to be someone to be trusted completely with our eye care. On every occasion that either one of us has had an appointment with Dr. Huizenga, he has always asked us about what's going on in our personal lives, and how we are doing in general. We have always been encouraged to ask questions, and Dr. Huizenga has also made sure to explain any determinations he has made regarding our eyes. On every occasion when we have been seen last by Dr. Huizenga, he has escorted us to the lobby. Aside from Dr. Huizenga, we feel that every staff member also goes above and beyond what would be considered “business as usual” to exceed our expectations every time we have an appointment, or call for other reasons. Examples: Last summer, I broke the frames of my glasses while on vacation, and had a local optical supply house put the lenses in used frames. When I returned home, I visited Georgetown Eye Associates to replace a nose pad on these used frames. Although I had not been at Georgetown Eye Associates for quite some time, and therefore they may not have remembered me, the lab technician did not ask me for proof that I had purchased the glasses or the frames there, but repaired them without charge. When my wife had a serious eye infection, she was able to get in to see Dr. Huizenga on very short notice; he prescribed eye drops that almost immediately made the situation less painful and troublesome. Several days later, when Linda wanted to get a prescription refill, our health insurance came back with a refusal to pay because the refill was too early. Linda called Georgetown Eye Associates and a new prescription was called in to our pharmacy almost immediately. Everyone in the front lobby is always kind and considerate, and that courtesy extends to the billing professional. We have never been made to feel uncomfortable when asking questions regarding our health coverage, which we do on occasion because we have recently moved to Medicare and Blue Cross/Blue Shield coverage. Very recently, Linda had a re-occurrence of the eye infection she suffered some time ago. We did not call in advance because I already had an appointment and we were both confident that Dr. Huizenga would make time for Linda, which he did. I have no reservations in recommending that anyone with a need for eye care services should call Georgetown Eye Associates. Thank you. Steve Golembiewski
